ST. ROBERTCome grow with us! St. Robert is known as the business hub of Pulaski County. The city is relatively young but it has achieved more than most cities since its birth, living up to its motto “Grow With Us”. Since being formed in 1951, St. Robert has expanded its borders and nearly tripled in size in the last five years. St. Robert just opened a new municipal center. The new St. Robert Interstate Plaza features hotels, restaurants and shops. Residents of the county come to St. Robert to make use of its air-conditioned Community Center, which offers a stage, fully equipped kitchen, bathrooms and large seating capacity. The city park, adjacent to the Communication Center, offers a softball field, picnic areas, pavilions and barbeque pits. The park is the site each year for a circus and the annual Pulaski County Regional Fair among other events. For outdoor enthusiasts, St. Robert is near beautiful fishing streams, canoe rentals and resorts and plenty of water fun. Lake of the Ozarks, state trout parks, and the Ozark Scenic River ways are just a short drive away. WAYNESVILLEPreserving the past, planning for the future. Waynesville, the county seat of Pulaski County, is nestled among beautiful Ozark hills. Its historic downtown square is rich with the city’s history, including the restored Old Stagecoach Stop, which dates back to 1860 and the Pulaski County Courthouse Museum that dates back to 1903. The Waynesville City Park, home to the annual Frog Festival and Paw Paw Daze Festival, also offers a 1 mile walking trail that runs along the Roubidoux River and joins with the Laughlin Park and Roubidoux Spring. The square Growth can be seen throughout Waynesville, from upscale new subdivisions to Townfield Plaza, the areas newest shopping district which is located along Hwy H. Fort Leonard Wood’s secondary entrance and the National Veteran’s cemetery, opening in the near future, is located at this intersection of H highway and I-44 at the new West Gate. The city recently finalized a joint-use airport agreement with Fort Leonard Wood, opening Forney Airfield to convenient air travel. There’s fun for all ages in Waynesville whether you like to fish for that lunker, scuba dive in the internationally known Roubidoux Spring Cave, swim at the city pool or explore Civil War history. The city’s parks offer picnic facilities, barbeque grills, new covered pavilions, a fishing area with handicapped accessible dock, and a baseball field. Once a year the city celebrates its heritage at Old Settlers Day, with crafts, food, music, a black powder shoot and more. |
